Anubis was an [[Horus guard]] who pledged allegiance to the [[Goa'uld]] [[Supreme System Lord]] [[Ra]]. Among humans, he impersonated Egyptian god thanks to his helmet with a jackal shape. For close combat, he has a golden claw on his hand ({{ep|Stargate}}).

When [[Ra's mothership|a pyramid-shape spacecraft]] lands over the [[Abydos pyramid]], many [[Horus guards]] chase [[Ferretti]], [[Reilly]], [[Porro]] and [[Freeman]] inside the pyramid's corridors. Among them, Anubis who knocks down Porro and drags him away. Before falling unconscious, Ferretti just notices the helmet with a jackal head.

Later, as [[Colonel]] [[Jack O'Neill]] looks for the [[Mark III nuclear bomb|nuclear warhead]] he brought from [[Earth]] and finds it missing, he and [[Daniel Jackson]] face Anubis. As Jackson points Anubis, O'Neill asks Jackson to lower his weapon. Anubis brings them to the [[Ra's mothership's throne room|throne room]] using [[transportation rings]]. There, him and [[Horus]] force them to knee before the throne with their [[staff weapon]]s. [[Ra]], on the throne, speaks to Anubis and the latter pushes a button on his helmet which retracts and reveals a human face. During a firefight where Jackson dies, Anubis knocks O'Neill out, and continues to beat him with his staff weapon. Ra orders him to stop. Anubis throws O'Neill inside a [[Ra's mothership's jail|flooded jail]]. Closing the grid, Anubis smirks.

The next day, Daniel Jackson, who has been [[resurrection|resurrected]] by a [[sarcophagus]], is forced by Anubis to execute O'Neill, [[Kawalsky]], Ferretti and Freeman with a staff weapon. During another firefight initiated by the [[Abydos]] kids, Anubis order his guards to shoot, killing Freeman in the process. Later Ra interrogates Anubis and Horus about the prisoners. Worriedly, they watch Ra telekineticly throwing a [[Horus guard (Stargate)|Horus guard]] against a wall and ribboning him to death with a [[Goa'uld hand device|hand device]].

The next day, as a caravan is approaching the pyramid, Ra order Anubis to send the [[naquadah]]-enhanced bomb through the [[Stargate]]. Guards take bombs and use the transportation rings. As O'Neill and the team strike back inside the pyramid, Ra urges Anubis to send the bomb at once. Anubis takes the order personaly and uses the transportation rings. Inside the pyramid, he strikes O'Neill with his staff weapon and the two fight each other while the bomb's countdown is ticking and O'Neill tries to deactivate it. After a long fight, O'Neill finally beats Anubis, slams Anubis' hand which activates the transportation rings. His head is inside the rings. and when the rings transfer the matter, Anubis is beheaded, his body remaining inside the pyramid while his head is transfered inside Ra's ship.
